We used to have a reward scheme for those who helped us keep prices up-to-date on our website. But as the website is now solely owned by our good friends at Camps Australia Wide we assume that they may decide to offer some even better incentives than we were able to.
We never allowed changes to be made by the proverbial "Tom, Dick, or Harriettes". Unlike another bottled gas price service that started after we had first floated the concept, they allowed anyone to post prices. Consequently some outlandishly cheap and/or expensive prices might appear on their site. We never posted a price until one of us, Gordon or Barbara, had confirmed with the seller that the information we had was correct. We were the only the two people who made changes.
Sadly, as you know, world oil prices skyrocked during COVID and we were unable to monitor every one of the 3,500 sellers we listed on our website. The problem was further exasibated by the various State gas safety regulations that were introduced. Many gas sellers decided not to stock gas because the extra expenses forced on them made gas selling totally unprofitable.
Finally, a very personal statement as to why Gorgon and Barbara have made the decision to pass the baton to Heatley Gilmore's team at Camps Australia Wide. It was Gordon's doctor who said to him: "Gordon, at age 87, you are suffering from that dreadful disease called OLD AGE!" You may look like a 65 year-old because of the genes passed to you by your parents but you cannot avoid the inevetable.
It's time to quit!
